CARRBORO, N.C. — J Shorty “The Bluesman” Smith was in good company during a December visit to Orange County, N.C., not far from the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Smith was the Dec. 19 guest of fellow Bluesman Marc Lee on his weekly radio show “The Juke Joint” on WCOM-LP FM (103.5 FM in Chapel Hill & Carrboro, and streaming worldwide at WCOMFM.org).

Lee spun every track off of Shorty’s “The Bluesman EP,” streaming now, and Shorty joined Lee in the booth for a far-ranging interview that revealed some of the inspiration behind his biggest hits and included the two sharing hilarious anecdotes from two blues lives well-lived.
