Fans of the Bluesman streaming The Juke Joint heard “Last Night” played on Nov. 21 & Dec. 5; plus Christmas Only Comes Once A Year Feat. Lessette played Dec. 9 on the Blues for Breakfast show.
Carrboro’s first-of-its-kind radio station has been broadcasting from its Mary Scroggs campus tower under the FCC-assigned WCOM-LP call letters since February 2005.
Low-power FM is grassroots radio – an effort to counterbalance the increasing concentration of radio ownership by a few large corporations.
The studio is located next door to the iconic Cat’s Cradle music hall and bathes Weaver Street Market & the Chapel Hill Library in the tunes capitalist radio wishes it could.
